Women’s mental health remains a critical yet often overlooked aspect of public health, shaped by a complex interplay of societal expectations, gender inequalities, and lived experiences. From navigating multiple roles to confronting issues such as gender-based violence, limited access to opportunities, and systemic barriers, many women and girls face challenges that significantly impact their well-being. These realities are often under-
discussed, hidden beneath cultural norms, stigma, and silence.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls,” calls for a renewed commitment to advancing equity, amplifying voices, and addressing the structural and social factors that affect women’s lives. It challenges us to move beyond acknowledgment toward intentional, collective action.
Our IMCE session builds on this theme by creating a safe and engaging space for dialogue, one that encourages reflection, challenges harmful norms, and equips participants with the awareness and tools needed to support women’s mental health and advocate for a more just and inclusive society.
